Wesley's Nursery

Here are the pictures of our completed nursery. It was a labor of love as we handmade many of the items in the nursery from the crib bedding to the dresser. And dont let me for get about painting those stripes!  We also received several handmade gifts including the 3 paintings you see below hanging above the crib.  Our dear friends Randa and Ethan gave those to us.

I sewed the crib sheet, crib skirt, and even recovered the glider cushions myself.  It was a major feat to say the least.
I also made the mobile and covered an Ikea lamp shade in chevron fabric.  The book shelves in the picture above are actually Ikea spice racks that we painted black.
Find out how I made the mobile HERE

Jeff made the asterisk clock and window mirror.

We found this dresser at a thrift store and painted it white and added the decorative trim and new handles.  I also made the changing pad cover using this tutorial from Prudent Baby.

I also sewed the "Wesley" pillow you see in his crib. The rug is from Ikea.
I saw several prints on Etsy that I liked and created my own version of them. (you can download a free printable here.)  Jeff created a valence box to hang above the closet and I sewed a curtain out of old sheets.
Jeff made the floating shelves and we framed chalkboard contact paper in cheap frames from Ikea.
Wesley loves his room so all the hard work was worth it!

Shower Doors!

What a surprise, Jeff installed glass shower doors this weekend! They are just the cherry on top for our new tile job. They totally open up the bathroom and I love that you can see the beautiful tile job that Jeff did. Check it out:

Better Bathroom

We finally got around to taking pictures of Jeff's latest project...the bathroom. More specifically the shower and tub surround. Our bathroom is now much better although I wouldn't say its complete by any means. You'll notice in the pictures that the tub wasn't re-glazed. We discovered that it will take 5 days to cure and we just aren't ready to part with our only shower for that long. And we plan to put in glass shower doors, hopefully in the not too distant future. But it is MUCH better with the subway tiles. Jeff did a great job...and a big shout out to my dad who helped A LOT and our friend Brent. They were both tile-cutting machines! So click here to remember what our bathroom looked like before...and here are some after pics of the shower now.

Didn't Jeff do a great job. And don't you wish you had one of him around your house to bust out projects like this in a weekend! Too bad, he's mine!

Our House Before

So you've seen what our house looks like now, but to appreciate everything that Jeff did on our house, you have to see these before pictures. These were taken before the family who was renting moved out, so all of the stuff was theirs. Warning, these pictures are a little gross...but here we go!
